Camplin 95th Security Forces Squadron EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 95th Security Forces Squadron key spouse volunteers, along with several security forces members, processed 100 valentine care packages for Edwards troops downrange during a Valentine crafting event here Feb 8. Provided by the Global Acts of Kindness, the care package essentials included candies calendars, cards, pens, lotions, teas, stuffed animals and cookies. "The outreach from the local community has been a blessing for our Airmen downrange," said Shelley Eichinger, 95th SFS Key Spouse volunteer. "Without them, we would not be able to provide our troops with this much needed taste of home." Military families in attendance created colorful pictures and cut out heart shaped messages to include in the packages. Teresa Leach, founder of Global Acts of Kindness, worked with local businesses to gather items for members in all branches of service. Ms. Leach donated the care packages through their community partner, Berney DeLaCruz, assistant project director of Operation Military Kids for the University of California. Mr. DeLaCruz said the Operation Military Kids has an ongoing relationship with various youth organizations throughout Edwards, and was pleased to pass along the opportunity. "Foundations like these help foster ongoing relationships of support throughout the base," Ms. Eichinger said. "Getting together with other wives on projects that make deployments easier on family members is extremely rewarding, and I can only hope they continue."
