Team Edwards announces first quarter award winners Published May 14, 2008 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team Edwards released the installation's first quarter award winners in a recent announcement . The following are the award winners: -- Airman of the Quarter: Staff Sgt. Daniel Michalewicz, 31st Test and Evaluation Squadron B-2A Spirit assistant dedicated crew chief. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Sergeant Michalewicz developed a B-2 operational test plan and co-authored the aircraft's data management and analysis plan. He also completed six credit hours toward his Community College of the Air Force degree. -- Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter: Tech. Sgt. Latosha Brown, 95th Force Support Squadron customer service NCO in charge. Among her accomplishments during the quarter, Sergeant Brown managed the customer service element for about 3,000 customers and led a three-person Department of Defense audit team. She is pursuing her master's degree in human resource management. -- Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter: Master Sgt. Larry Ray, Military Personnel Flight superintendent. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Sergeant Ray led the merger of the 95th Mission Support Squadron and 95th Services Division. He has a master's degree in business administration and graduated from the Air Force Additional-Duty First Sergeant's School. -- Company Grade Officer of the Quarter: Capt. Lance Strickland, 418th Flight Test Squadron lead flight test engineer. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Captain Strickland modified the C-5 Galaxy for its first flight after a nine-month downtime and led a number of upgrades and evaluations for the aircraft. He is a qualified life skills counselor and completed a five-week youth group course. -- Secretarial and Clerical Civilian of the Quarter: Anna Workman, 95th Force Support Squadron office clerk. Among her accomplishments during the quarter, Ms. Workman learned the Internet Based Purchasing System, supporting about 30 employees and contracts. She also volunteered to support a high school band. -- Specialist Civilian of the Quarter: Leris MCcaffrey, 95th Force Support Squadron accounting technician. Among her accomplishments during the quarter, Ms. MCcaffrey transformed a 25-year-old program to the new Web-based Nonappropriated Funds Inventory System and trained managers and 12 operation clerks on accounting procedures and guides. She is currently working toward her associate's degree in business management. -- Technician of the Quarter: Paul Albertson, 412th Maintenance Squadron electronic measurement equipment mechanic. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Albertson calibrated 142 items and maintained 100 percent quality on seven reviews. He led and organized a five-member team for the Air Force Materiel Command Team Lean Challenge. -- Trades and Labor Civilian of the Quarter: Thomas Bundy, 95th Communication Squadron electronic technician. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Bundy led a technical effort to restore a critical fuel distribution system and was a key member of the Camp Corum fiber restoration team. He helped mentor the Lancaster Eastside High School girls softball team. -- Scientific and Engineering Civilian of the Quarter: Steven Swinehart, 95th Communications Group project manager. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Swinehart managed more than $26 million worth of projects and communication requirements and performed a design review on the runway upgrade project. He also designed the first high-speed National Geospatial Intelligence Agency link, increasing its bandwidth by 2,600 percent. -- Supervision and Management Civilian of the Quarter: Terrence Hughes, 95th Communication Squadron transmission media chief. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Hughes supervised seven civilians and 13 contractors in the transmission media branch and led restoration efforts on the communication infrastructure. He also collaborated with 412th Range Squadron to consolidate 12 circuits onto a protected backbone. -- Team of the Quarter: Edwards Tax Center team with the Air Force Flight Test Center Staff Judge Advocate. Among the team's accomplishments during the quarter, the tax center provided personal income tax support to the Edwards community and provided assistance with federal and state tax returns. Volunteer income tax assistants donated more than 800 total hours preparing returns. The winners were selected from units within the 95th Air Base Wing, the 412th Test Wing, the Air Force Flight Test Center and associate units.
