Team Edwards to participate in 'Great Southern California Shake Out' Published Oct. 29, 2008 By Dave Bookrum 95th Air Base Wing Exercise Program EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Team Edwards will participate in the "Great Southern California Shake Out" as part of Golden Guardian 2008 exercise from Nov. 12 to 14. Golden Guardian 2008 tests California's capability to respond and recover during a major earthquake. Because of the base is located very close to the first and third largest earthquake fault lines in the state, Team Edwards should always be prepared. Unlike most natural disasters, earthquakes provide no warning. The exercise will help people and their families prepare for earthquakes. The exercise might affect everyone working or visiting the base. More information will come out to Team Edwards in the form of special instruction, rules of engagement, and unit training and briefings. Activities will be intense during this exercise period so expect delays in some base services; however, the Base Exchange, Commissary and gas station should not be affected.
