This week marks the halfway point in the Air Force Assistance Fund's 2009 campaign and so far, it's ahead of schedule.

The goal of the AFAF is to get 100 percent contact with all of the base's servicemembers and financially, $47,708. Currently, the 20 group representatives and their key workers have contacted 67 percent of the base's servicemembers. Additionally they have raised about 53 percent of the money needed to reach their goal.

"We're halfway into the campaign and right now we're doing great," said 2nd Lt. Myogene Park, 95th Contracting Squadron contract specialist. "To reach our goal, we will need to keep up the pace we're on now."

To ensure contact is reached, each group representative is going out and visiting with the Airmen they are responsible for contacting.

"It's hard work for the representatives to get out there and meet with all the Airmen assigned to them," said Lieutenant Park. "I'm happy that they're going out there and getting it done as effectively as they have been so far."

To wrap up the campaign there will be a booth set-up out in front of the Base Exchange from March 31 through April 6 when the campaign ends.

"I am excited for how the campaign has gone so far," said Lieutenant Park. "It's been great to see how much people want to be a part of this and how generous their contributions have been."
