Team Edwards recently received three 2008 Air Force Materiel Command Aviation Resource Management awards.

"I am extremely proud of the Edwards Aviation Resource Management team," said Col. Michael Panarisi, 412th Operations Group commander. "Together they manage the most complex flying operation in the Air Force. They relentlessly ensure our aircrew meets stringent AFMC flight qualification guidelines. Their tireless work ethic ensures our operations officers always know their aircrew are trained, qualified and authorized to fly our diverse flight test mission, and they accomplish it with professionalism and a smile."

The 2008 Aviation Resource Management award winners from Edwards are:

-- Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Aaron Kigar, 411th Flight Test Squadron F-22 Raptor Operations Flight administration superintendent. Sergeant Kigar was directly responsible for convoys to meet increased resupply demands at remote forward operating locations. He was a convoy commander for approximately 500 missions over 7,000 miles. He ensured seamless air operations for all of Afghan Regional Security Integration Command-West in Afghanistan during three weeks of renovations on Herat Airfield. Sergeant Kigar also organized the largest International Security Assistance Force airlift in history for 297 Afghan and U.S. soldiers and approximately 300,000 pounds of cargo.

-- Journey and Technician Civilian of the Year: Carmen Beale, 417th Flight Test Squadron flight and ground scheduler. Ms. Beale was the only scheduler, flight manager, training officer and standard evaluation specialist for the 417th FLTS. She built the 417th FLTS's operations management office and scheduling from scratch. She learned the requirements and structure for the Airborne Laser program. Ms. Beale also participated in the Relay for Life Cancer Run.

-- Sergeant Dee Campbell Outstanding Large Unit Team of the Year: 412th Operations Squadron, 412th Test Wing. The team provided highly effective data and information to the Air Force's premier test center. They facilitated aviation resource management services for the Department of Defense and Air Force assets. The team researched and solved 115 aircraft identification problems in the aviation resource management system database. The ARM team also provided oversight and processed more than 7,500 training events for 80 assigned aircrew members.

"We have such a diverse and unique operation with so many different airframe," Sergeant Kigar said. "It is a challenge for us as a community to manage flight operations. We are so spread out across that base that our communication and teamwork is extremely impressive."
