Team Edwards announces 1st quarter award winners

Team Edwards announced its first quarter award winners during a ceremony at the base theater May 26.

The following are the first quarter award winners:

-- Airman of the Quarter: Airman 1st Priscilla Vazquez-Perez, 95th Force Support Squadron evaluations apprentice. Among her accomplishments during the quarter, Airman Vazquez-Perez helped improve the 95th Security Forces Squadron's officer and enlister performance reports on-time rate from 16 to 98 percent. She managed the Air Force Flight Test Center's leave program, coordinating more than 1,000 Leave Web transactions.

-- Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter: Tech. Sgt. James Lewis, 418th Flight Test Squadron C-130 Hercules flight test loadmaster. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Sergeant Lewis led and developed a $5 million new advanced fiber test for NASA Ares parachute. He also authored C-17 Globemaster III airdrop and engine running on-load procedures. Sergeant Lewis is one of the 412th Test Wing's Community College of the Air Force mentors.

-- Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter: Senior Master Sgt. Dwayne Metoyer, 412th Maintenance Group Weapons Standardization superintendent. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Sergeant Metoyer was the X-51 hypersonic loading team lead. He led 14-person flight for the Logistics Standardization Evaluation Team and Unit Compliance inspections. Sergeant Metoyer also chaired the Air Force Flight Test Center awards banquet.

-- Company Grade Officer of the Quarter: 1st Lt. David Ho, U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School Airborne Instrumentation Branch deputy. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Lieutenant Ho led his branch in a tackling water intrusion issue on F-16 Fighting Falcons. He is also a volunteer tutor, mentoring five at-risk students on mathematics and English.

-- Secretarial and Clerical Civilian of the Quarter: Tracy Risley, 95th Force Support Squadron Human Resource assistant. Among her accomplishments during the quarter, Ms. Risley executed more than 300 requests for personnel action in five days. She also managed Air Force Flight Test Center's position hierarchy for more than 3,000 records.

-- Staff, Specialist and Analyst of the Quarter: Ray Hungate, 412th Test Support Squadron project manager. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Hungate managed 15 programs to deliver B-1 Bomber warfighting capabilities. He also helped in the effort to bring in an additional B-1 to recover Software Block-13 test schedule.

-- Technician Civilian of the Quarter: Timothy Kramer, 412th Maintenance Squadron Supply technician. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Kramer managed 35 munitions accounts and approximately 1,600 accountable documents. He also validated 52 munitions support requests. Mr. Kramer also conducted complete inventory of about 1,900 items.

-- Trades and Labor Civilian of the Quarter: Kenneth Vaughan, 95th Civil Engineer and Transportation Directorate high voltage electrician. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Vaughan directed 27 scheduled power outages to support a $650,000 project. He provided telemetry power redundancy. He also updated substation equipment and incorporated solid state technology into systems.

-- Scientific and Engineering Civilian of the Quarter: Reynaldo Enriquez, Air Force Flight Test Center Safety test system safety engineer. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Enriquez was the prime instructor of test safety officer training courses. He improved U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School's flutter and limit cycle oscillation curriculum sortie. He also developed safer plan for C-17 Globemaster III airdrops.

-- Supervision and Management Civilian of the Quarter: Matthew Bernhardt, 95th Civil Engineer and Transportation Directorate Electrical System chief. Among his accomplishments during the quarter, Mr. Bernhardt led 11 diverse functional areas in operations and maintenance of three airfields and more than 6,000 buildings. He also coordinated Air Force Research Laboratory high voltage support.

-- Team of the Quarter: 418th Flight Test Squadron C-17 Globemaster III Test Acceleration team. The team conducted two concurrent test accelerations to meet Air Mobility Command and System Group's time-critical needs without delaying ongoing projects. They executed two and six-ship flight test to collect data supporting deficiency analysis and resolution. They also evaluated critical safety-of-flight issue detected in ongoing AMC safety investigation. 

-- Volunteer of the Quarter: Staff Sgt. John and Amber Strausbaugh. The husband and wife team volunteers at Adopt-a-Pet, sacrificing a minimum of 15 hours a week to ensure the animal rescue shelter operates smoothly. Volunteer efforts include regularly monitoring different volunteers, providing 40 cats and four dogs with food, water, clean cages and exercise.
