AFMC, Edwards to receive additional personnel

The 2009 Force Structure Announcement, shows the Air Force Materiel Command gaining a total of 1388 workforce positions through the end of the 2009 fiscal year. 

The manning increse comes as a result of Air Force adjustments aimed at providing unsurpassed Global Vigilance, Global Reach and Global Power.

Edwards will see these changes at the following agencies:

The Air Force Flight Test Center looses 10 military but gains 10 civilian positions as a result of other miscellaneous actions. 

The 95th Air Base Wing gains six military and 18 civilian positions as a result of Combat Air Forces restructuring. 

The 95th Security Forces Squadron has a adds 12 military positions. T

he 31st Test and Evaluation Squadron will increase one civilian position to enhance support to unit commanders.

The 412th Maintenance Group will increse by 25 military and five civilian positions also as a result of Combat Air Forces restructuring. 

And the 412th Aircraft Instructor Test Squadron looks to gain nine civilian positions, as a result of Combat Air Forces restructuring. 

The 412th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron will also increase by seven military positions.

The 412th Logistics Test Squadron gains five military positions while the 412th Maintenance Squadron has an increase of 95 civilian positions. The 412th Test Support Squadron gains two civilian positions while the 445th Flight Test Squadron pluses up by two military positions.

The eventual home of Joint Strike Fighter, the 461st Flight Test Squadron, will gain 25 military positions as a result of Combat Air Forces restructuring. The 53rd Wing that will have a detachment involved in F-35 Operational testing will gain 152 military and one civilian position. 

The 771st Test Squadron and the 773rd Test Squadron each gain three civilian positions. While the 775th Test Squadron is plused up by four civilian positions. The 912th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron has an increase of 42 civilian positions. 

Contract to civilian conversions in accordance with the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act resulted in an increase of one civilian position. Total impact is an increase of 224 military and 194 civilian positions.

The 412th Test Wing loses one RQ-4B Unmanned Aerial Vehicle with completion of developmental test activity and the 31st Test and Evaluation Squadron loses one F-35/A authorization.
