California hosts job fair for servicemembers

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The State of California's Employment Development Department is hosting "Honor a Hero, Hire a Vet" job and resource fair Oct. 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Warner Center Marriott Hotel, Woodland Hills, Calif.

The fair is for veterans, National Guard and Reservists returning from active duty. Interested job seekers must dress appropriately and bring resumes. During the event, servicemembers will have an opportunity to meet and interview with employers, find out about job opportunities, obtain benefits, training and career information.

This is in partnership with EDD, California Community Colleges, California Department of Veterans Affairs, California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, Department of Industrial Relations-Apprenticeship Standards, Valley Economic Alliance, East Ventura County, Western Ventura County and San Fernando Valley EACs, and various federal, state, local and private organizations within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
