O'Brien 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 95th Security Force Squadron team faced off against the 95th Force Support Squadron team in the Edwards intramural football playoffs at Wings Field Oct. 21. Going into the final quarter of the game, both teams had scored twice and neither was able to convert on the extra point or two-point conversion. But with just over three minutes to go in the game the 95th SFS scored three times, two resulting from 95th FSS turnovers bringing the final score to 34-12 and securing their place in the next round of the playoffs. "Our Defense played great the whole game," said Marcus Williams 95th SFS coach. "Our offense started clicking and we were able to do what we planned to do the whole game." On the first drive of the game, the 95th SFS was able to drive the ball down the field on their opponent and score the game's first points. Following an unsuccessful extra point attempt, the 95th FSS took over trailing 6-0. Neither team was able to score the remainder of the first quarter. On the first drive of the second quarter however, the 95th FSS punched the ball into the end zone and tied the game at 6. In the third quarter, both teams were able to score another touchdown, bringing the game into the final quarter tied at 12. To start the fourth quarter, the 95th SFS drove the ball down the field and into the end zone and take the lead for the third time in the game. On the 95th FSS's next drive pressure on the quarter back resulted in an interception that was returned for a touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion give the 95th SFS their biggest lead of the game 26-12. Two 95th FSS possessions later, another interception lead to another 95th SFS touchdown and with just seconds left the 95th SFS had a 34-12 lead. After the game Coach Williams said he knows any team can win any given game, but he hopes his team can continue to play well and win the championship. "I can't give the other teams enough credit," said the coach. "All we can do is going out there ever game and hustle every game and hopefully we can win."
