DFAS to make updates, increase security

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- October 2009, Defense Finance and Accounting Service sent an email notifying users of upcoming security enhancements to the myPay system.

These changes are expected by Dec. 14. Once implemented, users will be required to establish a new login ID and password.

Requiring users to establish new customized login ID and stronger password gives them more protection and increases the security of personal information.

When logging into myPay the first time following implementation of these security enhancements, one will be allowed to use their existing login ID and PIN and will then be prompted to change their login credentials.

When the security release is implemented, a more detailed email will be sent to all users. Specific criteria for the new login ID and password can be found at the myPay home page under "hot topics".
