Looking for a few good men, women hikers

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  The Team Edwards Hiking Club is looking for a few good men and women to come out and hike Edwards' surrounding areas.

"The club hikes every other weekend. The next hike is scheduled for Sept. 4 or 5 at Big Pine Canyon, North Fork," Manuel Jaramillo, club organizer said.

Hikers interested in participating in the early-September hike need to contact Mr. Jaramillo at manuel.jaramillo.ctr@edwards.af.mil or 661-277-4743 by 4 p.m., Aug. 20.

"It is advised that hikers bring a fleece or sweat shirt, and maybe a long sleeve shirt, as it's usually a little chilly in the mornings. I advise that hikers layer-up on clothing accordingly," Mr. Jaramillo said.

While not a necessity, it is suggested that hikers bring a camera.

"The upcoming hike will pass by two lakes, and possibly several more, depending on how far you want keep hiking," Mr. Jaramillo said.

Hikers can join the club at anytime to participate in this or future hikes.
