Date set for Edwards' 2010 Retiree Appreciation Day

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Edwards' leadership announced that its 2010 Retiree Appreciation Day will be Oct. 2, in Hangar 1600. Doors will open at 8 a.m. for refreshments with presentations from 9 a.m. to noon.

Speakers will include a variety of distinguished military and civilian leaders including Maj. Gen. David J. Eichhorn, Air Force Flight Test Center commander, California 36th District Assemblyman Steve Knight and 95th Air Base Wing commander, Col. Gregory E. Schwab.

Limited services from the pharmacy, legal services (wills) and identification card updates will be available.

There will be door prizes, and the Army and Air Force Exchange Service and Defense Commissary Agency will be providing discounts and more.

Lodging may be reserved on base by calling 661-275-7666 by Sept. 20. The Family Camp recreational vehicle facility is also available and reservations can be made at 661-277-8182.
