Fitness Center Annex reopens Published Nov. 2, 2010 By Kenji Thuloweit 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Fitness Center Annex, formerly known as the Family Fitness Center, opened for business, Nov. 1, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Brig. Gen. Robert C. Nolan II, Air Force Flight Test Center Commander, cut the ceremonial ribbon along with base leadership and members of the fitness center staff. The fitness center has been closed for about a year but it was decided to reopen the facility on a one-year test basis to accommodate the base populace. "To alleviate congestion at peak times at the Base Fitness Center, it was decided to reopen the fitness center as the Fitness Center Annex," said Bruce Morrison, Force Support Squadron Director. Mr. Morrison said that a projected increase in base population with the Joint Strike Fighter program and other initiatives helped move along the decision to open the Fitness Center Annex to meet future mission needs. The fitness center annex has an abundance of Nautilus and cardio machines to meet the workout requirements of Team Edwards. The Fitness Center Annex is located in the Desert Mall and is open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. during weekdays and closed weekends and holidays. For more information, call 277-4962.
