Special Needs Identification and Assignment Coordination (SNIAC) led by the 95th Medical Operations Squadron's Family Advocacy Flight, is bringing the Wellspring Corporation, a healthcare resource for families with special needs, to meet with and educate the families within the Edwards community.

The main topic will be assistance available for children with autism. Although the topic of discussion is specific to autism, other disabilities and special needs resources will be available at the seminar as well.

Participation in the Exceptional Family Program for active duty Airmen with children or dependents with special needs is mandatory, however, many members fail to seek assistance through the program and are missing out on valuable services. In many cases, military members are spending their personal money for resources that are actually reimbursable via this program through TRICARE.

The meeting will be held Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. at Chapel 2 in classrooms 42-44.

John Steinreich, Wellspring Corporation, will facilitate an open discussion with the Edwards Community on services available. Family members, health care workers, counselors, and interested persons are invited.

CJ Stephens and Jocelynn LaShier from SNAIC will also be on site to answer broader questions from those seeking more information on support to our military members and their families.

Although the SNAIC is specific to active duty military members, Wellspring offers services to contractor and civilian employees through other programs.  Mr. Steinreich can elaborate on additional services.

For more information call CJ Stephens at 277-5292 or Jocelynn LaShier at 277-0230.
