Nearly 100 runners of all ages enjoyed mild temperatures and sunny skies for the annual Reindeer 5K Fun Run sponsored by the Edwards Officers' Spouses' Club, Dec. 8.

The 3.1 mile course traversed paved desert trails and base roadways, eventually ending up back where it began in the Fitness and Sports Center parking lot.

Parents with younger runners had the choice of a shorter, more stroller-friendly 1.5 mile fun run, which also concluded in the parking lot.

Antler headbands and candy canes were passed out to each child participant, while adult participants were given commemorative T-shirts.

Proceeds from race registration fees were donated to Desert High School's self-funded sports programs. The school's soccer, wrestling and cross country teams rely on fundraisers each year to fund the programs.
