USAF Band of Golden West to perform free public concerts in AV

Two free public concerts are scheduled to be performed in the Antelope Valley by the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West in early February.

The band will perform Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at Palmdale‟s Highland High School Auditorium.

The next night, Feb. 9 at 7p.m., they will perform at the Lancaster High School Theater.

The band has performed at gubernatorial inaugurations and presidential visits.
 
Band members have worked with renowned artists such as Toni Tennille, Vince Gill, Marvin Stamm, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Billy Dee Williams, Rich Little, Joan Rivers, Rosemary Clooney, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Boston Brass.

The group performs more than 500 shows annually for roughly 1.5 million listeners.

The band plays in civilian communities throughout California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Nevada and also supports events for 10 Air Force Bases, 5 Air Force Reserve Wings and 5 recruiting squadrons.

The Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., is the only remaining active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies.
