AF Band of the Golden West jazz ensemble to perform free concerts in AV Published March 9, 2011 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West's jazz ensemble, "The Commanders," will play two free concerts in the area. The first will be held at Rosamond High School, Mar. 16 at 7 p.m., with the second to follow, Mar. 17 at Antelope Valley College beginning at 7 p.m. The concerts will focus on a variety of styles, from traditional big band swing to Latin and contemporary pieces. Under the direction of Tech. Sgt. James Butler, the USAF Band of the Golden West is stationed at Travis AFB, Calif. and serves Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and California.
