95th CS raises $1,300 for families of deployed Airmen Published June 22, 2011 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Brian Anderson, from the 95th Communications Squadron, presents a check for more than $1,300 to Kimberly Shirley, Friends of the Family Support Center vice president. The money was donated to help support spouses and families of deployed military members. The money was raised during the 95th CS Charity Golf Tournament held at Muroc Lake Golf Course, May 27. "Our goal for getting this story out is to inspire other base organizations to put together events that can raise money for the Airmen and Family Readiness Center," Mr. Anderson said. "The Airmen and Family Readiness Center hosts monthly activities for these families as well as purchase tickets to JetHawk games," Mrs. Shirley said. The Friends of Family Support Center provides the funds the Readiness Center needs to support the monthly activities, she said. In addition to Mr. Anderson, other volunteers for this cause were Don Lyman, Marlene Escobar and Wendell Brown, all from 95th CS. (Courtesy photo)
