VERA/VSIP update: Dec. 31, 2011 new date for employees to be off government payroll

The Civilian Personnel Section is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2012 Voluntary Early Retirement Authority and Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay.

At this time, it is unknown if incentives will be offered. Employees should not take premature actions that are irrevocable or incur financial obligations prior to receiving a firm incentive offer from the CPS. However, employees are encouraged to seriously consider this option.

Those interested should contact the HQ AF Personnel Center's Civilian Benefits and Entitlements Services Team, known to many simply as BEST, at 1-800-525-0102 for retirement estimates and counseling.

Those interested must be prepared to make a decision should an incentive be offered. The revised effective date to be off the government payroll will be Dec. 31, 2011. There will be no exceptions. The timeframe to submit a response will be from Aug. 26 through Sept. 16, 2011. No applications will be received past the closing date.

Interested employees need to submit their application to the following e-mail address afftc.vera.vsip@edwards.af.mil or drop off the application at CPS in Bldg. 3000 at 5 N. Seller Ave.

All questions should be addressed to Ruby Ervin at 277-5084. Those who submitted an e-mail response to the FY11 VERA/VSIP inquiry in the spring and are still interested must submit an application now to be considered for the FY12 VERA/VSIP as outlined above. An application will be considered automatically terminated if an employee does not receive an official offer for an incentive. The CPS will make every effort to communicate in a timely manner the decision about whether requests for separation will be granted.

Employees who apply for the incentive and later wish to withdraw their application must sign and date a statement expressing this intent. Such statements will be available at CPS along with copies of the application if needed.

The application form can be picked-up at the Civilian Personnel Section and can also be found on the VERA/VSIP SharePoint site along with additional information:
