EAFB advises caution in traveling on/near the base Published Sept. 23, 2011 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- EAFB advises motorists and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution while traveling on and near EAFB due to lightning and thunderstorms that are causing dust clouds, grass fires and high crosswinds. Lightning has set grass fires on north base that have extinguished, and has the potential to cause more as the storm continues. If indoors remain there if possible; if traveling, turn on headlights and proceed at a slow and safe speed, expecting further wind and rain and traffic delays.
