Name:
Joe "Face" Peterson

Rank: Captain

Duty Title: chief, Flight Test Safety

Unit: 416th Flight Test Squadron

Hometown: Bakersfield, Calif.

When did you join the Air Force? June 1998

Why did you join the Air Force?
I loved airplanes and wanted the challenge of an Air Force Academy education.

What do you like most about your job?
The practice air combat missions are amazing. I had no idea what airplanes are capable of until I flew with the 416th.

What is your favorite thing to do around the area?
I love snowboarding up at Mammoth or Tahoe.

Warrior Highlights:
Fresh from U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School Class 10B, Face Peterson was
assigned to the 416th and immediately hit the ground running. One of only two
TPS graduate flight test engineers, Face's energy and enthusiasm as a mentor
and control room trainer has directly led to increased control room
efficiency and more effective training of new engineers. He has also
tirelessly worked to create a new aircraft configuration document generation
system, which will make the process of configuration management more
efficient.
