Weather Advisory Published Nov. 30, 2011 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Edwards weather station is forecasting very windy weather conditions for the Edwards area starting late Wednesday, Nov. 30 going into early Thursday morning. The strong winds will continue all day Thursday. The winds on Wednesday will start with sustained winds at 35 miles per hour and gusting to 45 to 50 mph from a north to northeasterly wind direction. These strong winds will continue into Thursday and on Thursday afternoon, the winds gusts could reach as high as 55 mph to 60 mph from a north to northeasterly wind direction. Winds could be higher in canyons and mountain passes. Temperatures on Thursday will be in the low to mid 50's during the day and low 30's at night. Visibilities will be reduced in these windy conditions caused by blowing sand, dirt and dust. Secure or tie down all items that may be blown around during these windy conditions. Be careful opening vehicle doors to avoid damaging them or adjacent vehicles.
