Edwards AFB Tax Center will open Jan. 30 -- appointments needed Published Jan. 10, 2012 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Edwards AFB Tax Center will open Jan. 30 and will be taking appointments Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center will remain open through April 13. The primary mission of the Tax Center is to provide free computerized preparation and electronic filing of federal and state income tax returns for Active Duty servicemembers, Reservists on active duty orders, retired military personnel and eligible dependents. This popular program has been providing these services, and fast refunds, to hundreds of customers each year, tax center specialists say. When arriving for a scheduled appointment, those filing a tax return must have the following documents: a copy of last year's tax return, all applicable social security cards for anyone claimed on the filer's tax return, a voided check, and all pertinent 2011 tax documents in the filer's possession. The Tax Center is located in building 7210, next to the Children's Library, at 1100 Kincheloe Avenue. Please call 661-275-ETAX (3829) for an appointment.
