Edwards records managers go beyond the rank and file Published Feb. 7, 2012 By Jim Kelleher 95th Communications Squadron EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Every year, the 95th Communication Squadron's Knowledge Operations Section performs staff assistance visits, to assess and improve organizations' file plans. This year, nine records managers earned perfect scores for their organizations during these visits. These inspections, also known as SAVs, ensure Edwards units are ready for no-notice visits and program inspections. They also ensure that the Air Force Flight Test Center can effectively respond to litigation records searches and Freedom of Information Act inquires. "Official records tell the public who, what and why we are here and serve as the memory of the organization, a record of past events and the basis for future actions," said Lt. Col. Keith Repik, 95th Communications Squadron commander. "While records management may not be as glamorous or exciting as other Air Force programs, it is critical to ensuring continuity for years to come." During the 2011 SAVs, the hard work and diligence of records professionals in nine organizations paid off in perfect scores with zero discrepancies earned during their inspections. Those individuals were: Jennifer Montour, 412th Electronic Warfare Group Linda Vincent, 412th Electronic Warfare Group Sandra Neises, 412th Range Squadron Heather Ash, 412th Test Engineering Group Sandy Delorenzo, 412th Test Management Group Dianna Sanders, 773rd Test Squadron Tech. Sgt. Janice Thompson, Air Force Flight Test Center Command Staff Mary Pablo, Air Force Flight Test Center Equal Opportunity Office Barbara Sellers, Air Force Flight Test Center Financial Management Office "This is a tremendous accomplishment for which we would like to take the time to say, 'Way to go!'" said Repik.
