During his visit here May 2, General Kowalski visited the 419th Flight Test Squadron and the F-35 Integrated Test Force. Air Force Global Strike Command, activated Aug. 7, 2009, is a major command headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base, La. AFGSC is responsible for the nation's three intercontinental ballistic missile wings, two B-52 wings and the only B-2 wing. Its mission is to develop and provide combat-ready forces for nuclear deterrence and global strike operations -- safe, secure, effective -- to support the President of the United States and Combatant Commanders.
