When did you join the Air Force? Aug. 24, 2010 Why did you join the Air Force? I joined the Air Force to further my career opportunities and education, as well as for an opportunity to travel and see the world. What do you like most about your job? The best part of my job is sending an aircraft into the air. Being on the ground side of aircraft maintenance, I know what it takes to ensure it is ready for flight and to make that happen is an unparalleled feeling. What is your favorite thing to do around the area? Since being in California I have found surfing to be a great time and an even better way to cool off on the weekend. Warrior Highlights: "Airman Mitchell is one of my most hard-working and dedicated Airmen both on and off duty. His professional attitude and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done are evident on a daily basis. He is an exceptionally gifted aircraft maintainer and consistently upholds only the highest standards of conduct and military discipline. Airman 1st Class Mitchell sets the example in every facet of his career, and is truly a praiseworthy airman! Most recently, he achieved the highest score out of 21 peers on his journeyman upgrade training end-of-course exam and is now pursuing his Community College of the Air Force degree. Additionally, he volunteered to change shifts mid-week to augment our 2300-0800 shift which was suffering from an unforeseen personnel shortage, which resulted in the prevention of a negative impact on the 445th Aircraft Maintenance Unit mission. Airman Mitchell boasts an impressive 94-percent on his fitness test and is an active volunteer in the base community." -Tech. Sgt. Jeremy C.
