Warrior Highlights: "Airman 1st Class Washburn has been a dedicated Airman from the day he walked into the Wing Information Assurance shop. He is a hardworking and capable professional , demonstrating ability beyond the expectations of his rank. He demonstrates that he is a superb warrior every week, making it easy to nominate him. On a daily basis, Washburn defends the base network by overseeing the Wing Information Assurance and Assistance Program. Along with scheduling the inspections and ensuring all reports are written, he has also performed several inspections personally to ensure 100% compliance. As the base Local Registration Authority, he augmented Edwards' email service to accommodate the stand down of the 95th Air Base Wing with no loss of service. Before coming to Edwards, Airman Washburn served a short tour at Osan, South Korea. His contributions led to the 51st Communications Squadron's passing score for the Air Force Network Integration Center Information Assurance Awareness Program inspection and the 2010 Maj. Gen. McClelland Outstanding Unit Award. On top of these accomplishments, he went beyond the line of duty to ensure a data link remained operational between Osan, AB, and March Air Reserve Base and, as a result, was coined by the 701st Combat Operations Squadron commander. When not working, Airman Washburn still assists his peers by helping with the various activities of the 412th CS Cyber Hawks Booster Club. He supports with planning, administration, and volunteering of his time to aid with morale boosting events. Airman 1st Class Washburn is an outstanding, well rounded Airman that merits being Warrior of the Week."
