412th TW CC picks Airman to attend 65th Air Force Anniversary function in Newport Beach Published Sept. 10, 2012 By Kenji Thuloweit EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Brig. Gen. Michael T. Brewer, 412th Test Wing commander, selected Tech. Sgt. Diana Mosier to attend an Air Force 65th Anniversary event Sept. 15. General Brewer received an invitation to send one enlisted person to Newport Beach, Calif., to represent Edwards AFB at the Air Force Association's Tribute to the Air Force. The event will be held at the American Legion Post 291. Mosier will be joined by members of the local chapter of the Air Force Association along with other Airmen from around Southern California. Along with being a tribute to the Air Force's 65 years of existence, the event will also raise funds for Airman and Family Readiness Centers around the region. Tech. Sgt. Diana Mosier is a flight attendant assigned to the 412 Flight Test Squadron. The squadron is the home of a one-of-a-kind specially modified KC-135R aircraft nickname the "Speckled Trout." The aircraft is as an airborne communications test platform that also provides world-wide distinguished visitor airlift support. Mosier has flown with military and DOD civilian leaders to all points around the globe. When not flying on DV airlift missions, she works in the squadron's training flight where she ensures all the squadron's crewmembers are fully trained and qualified. "When I found out I was picked, I thought it was an honor," said Mosier. Mosier is also a member of the Edwards AFB Blue Eagles Honor Guard and provides military honors at military functions, civic events and funerals across all of Southern California. In her off-duty time, she is pursuing her bachelor's degree. Chief Master Sgt. Shawn Hughes, 412th Operations Group superintendent, nominated Mosier. "Tech. Sgt. Mosier is an exceptional flight attendant and is not one who tries to draw attention to herself, said Hughes. "When the "Trout" went to depot, she volunteered to go to Honor Guard full-time."
