Italian honorary commanders visit Edwards

Edwards Air Force Base hosted members of the Honorary Squadron Commanders Association from Aviano Air Base, Italy, Oct. 12.  While visiting the Air Force Test Pilot School, the delegation posed for a group photo in front of the NF-104.  The Italians met up with base leadership and members of the Edwards AFB Civlian Military Support Group for lunch at Club Muroc and were later given a tour of the base by the 412th Test Wing Public Affairs Office. The members also visited the Air Force Flight Test Museum at the end of their tour. 

Overseas and local U.S. Air Force Honorary Commander's Programs are designed to reinforce support of the U.S.A.F. as key to international security among local opinion leaders. The Italian HSCA members can carry to local audiences stories, facts and context to increase local understanding and support of Aviano AB operations. The group is made up of past and present Honorary Squadron Commanders including local business owners, attorneys, medical personnel and other civic leaders. Honorary Squadron Commanders are hand-picked, which most serving two years.
 
Aviano AB is a NATO base in northeastern Italy and home to the U.S.A.F's 31st Fighter Wing.
