Edwards Eye Clinic here to serve community Published Nov. 26, 2012 By Maj. (Dr.) Oscar Corredor 412th Aerospace Medicine Squadron EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Hi, I'm Maj. (Dr.) Oscar Corredor, your base eye doctor. In the past couple of weeks I've been asked many times about our services and "who can we see" at the Eye Clinic. The answer is simple: we provide eye care for everybody that is empaneled to our area. Along with active duty members, we treat dependents, retirees and retiree dependents. The clinic can also see DOD civilians on a case-by-case basis for occupational requirements. I know other areas/bases only provide eye care for active duty members but that is not the case here at Edwards AFB as we are fully staffed with two military doctors and three military techs. Along with Maj. (Dr.) Jade Texcell and our staff, we provide full eye health exams, glasses prescription update, contact lens prescription updates and new contact lens fittings though our fitting lenses are limited and may not fit everyone. For our active duty members only, we participate in the Air Force's Corneal Refractive Surgery Program and are currently performing pre and post-op evaluations. Appointments can be made by calling the appointment line at (661) 277-7118, in person at the clinic, or at www.triwest.com. Please see more info at www.edwards.af.mil/units/412thmedicalgroup/optometry/index.asp or stop by the clinic if you have questions that we may be able to answer for you.
