Wingman Day set for May 6 Published April 30, 2013 By 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Wingman Day is an opportunity for unit cohesion and to develop the wingman concept. We are all Airmen, every Air Force civilian, officer and enlisted member is an Airman. The term "wingman" stems from a time-honored tradition within our Air Force flying community that essentially says a wingman will always stay with and protect the lead pilot, watching his/her back. It's a promise, a pledge, a commitment between Airmen. Success rests with Airmen engaging with other Airmen in a way that fosters communication and connection. Practicing being a good wingman needs to happen daily. Beginning at 8:30 a.m. activities will be offered at the Rosburg Fitness Center and the Oasis Community Center. Units wanting to participate should call. Throughout the day units will also provide their own unit-specific training. More information can be found on Wingman Day on the Edwards AFB Portal. Just click the Health and Wellness tab on the left and then scroll down to Wingman Day. All Air Force civilians are encouraged to attend Wingman Day activities.
