There's probably no better place to propose to the love of your life than the place where you first met.

That's what Douglas Thonack did last November after leaving Edwards almost 20 years ago.

After reuniting with her six years ago, Thonack brought Jessica Cox back to Branch Elementary School, formerly Forbes Elementary, where they first met.

Thonack and Cox met when they were in the fifth grade at Forbes.

Thonack's father, retired Chief Master Sgt. Kipp Thonack, was assigned to the 602nd Training Support Squadron at Edwards from 1991 to 1994. Cox's father worked for the Air Force Flight Test Center on the B-2 Spirit program.

At 1:30 p.m., Nov. 3, 2012. Thonack proposed to Cox at the school and she said, "yes."

Douglas and Jessica, who live in Sacramento now, plan to marry in August and will hold an engagement party next month.
