The High Desert Lanes Bowling Center is serving up a new place to dine with the reopening of the Strike Zone snack bar June 28 at 11 a.m.

The eatery will offer some new menu items along with the traditional hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers like the old snack bar served. Along with sandwiches, the menu features Mexican classics like carne asada tacos, burritos, carne asada nachos and fries.

Manager John Salcedo said the Strike Zone will offer new menu items in the near future, which will also include Asian entrees.

"We're also looking at introducing a ramen bar and we'll be introducing new items as time goes by," he said.

Salcedo added that they will also be looking at setting up a delivery service.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. July 1 and free bowling will be offered during the entire week between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Strike Zone will be open the same hours as the bowling center. For more information, call (661) 275-BOWL.

Food and drinks from the outside will no longer be permitted.
