Carl Schaefer, 412th Test Wing commander, throws out a ceremonial first pitch before a Lancaster JetHawks game May 12. The general delivered a strike to JetHawks mascot Kaboom, who was the catcher for the throw. Schaefer was invited to the ballpark by the Edwards Civ-Mil support group, which is an organization that funds and organizes projects to help improve quality of life on the base. The Friday night game was celebrated at Aerospace Appreciation Night. The Lancaster JetHawks are a Class A Advanced minor league team for Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies.
