Team,

It's that day of the year where we take time to remember our veterans who continue to serve and those who have served in the past.

Our freedoms, our heritage and the way of life we enjoy today are made possible because of our military veterans.

November 11 was originally proclaimed as Armistice Day in 1919 as a commemoration of the armistice between the Allied nations and Germany at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to cease hostilities and bring about the end of World War I.

Today, Veterans Day honors all of America's veterans for their patriotism, service and sacrifice. And for their families, there is no better time than now to recognize them and give thanks for the remarkable sacrifices they have made.

As you spend time with your friends and families this long weekend, please remember your deployed Airman, Soldiers, Marines and Sailors who continue to serve in harm's way. Keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

I want to say thank you to all of Team Edwards for what you do day in and day out. It's truly an honor to serve with you. Your dedication to putting the most advanced and lethal aircraft in the hands of the warfighter makes the Air Force the greatest the world has ever seen.

Have a great Veterans Day and we'll see you next week.
