Team,

The holidays are here and Debbie and I would like to express our sincere thanks to each and every one of you who continue to make the 412th Test Wing the premier Air Force enterprise to work for and Edwards the best base to be stationed. We continue to be amazed at all your accomplishments and are truly honored to serve with you every day.

As with every year, 2014 was a busy one. We started off the year with a visit from the chief of staff and later hosted testing of the short-takeoff vertical-landing variant of the F-35. We also saw the first Joint Strike Fighter to ever hit 1,000 flight hours. We continue to improve systems on almost every airframe the Air Force has in its inventory including testing out new tires for the C-17 fleet and an improved braking system for the B-1. Throughout all our trials and challenges, Team Edwards endured and continued to test, improve, and provide the most technologically advanced airframes and weapons systems to our warfighters.

On land, we witnessed groundbreakings of a new jet fuel pipeline to get gas to the flight line along with a new community center in the housing area to be completed mid-2015. We also saw the Stealth Bomber turn 25 years old at U.S. Air Force Plant 42, which the 412th Test Wing took under its wing this year. Edwards continues to not only improve weapon systems for the warfighter, but improve the quality of life for its residents.

2015 will no doubt pose more challenges and work, but as we've seen in the past years, we will get through them together.

It is the greatest honor to serve with you here at Edwards. I have the best job in the Air Force!

Remember, safety never takes a break, so be sure to celebrate Christmas and New Year's with safety first in mind.

Use the Airmen Against Drunk Driving program if needed (661-277-AADD).

Now with the magic of the holiday season upon us, I hope that each of you will take time to use some well-earned leave, be with friends and family, and use this time to recharge, relax and reinvigorate yourself. Enjoy the holidays with your friends and families and I will see you all next year!
