Today, we honor our brothers and sisters, America's veterans, for their devotion to duty and their service to our great nation.

And as we celebrate our American heroes, let us consider the wisdom of our first Commander-in-Chief, General George Washington who said, "The willingness with which our young people will fight in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional as to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their country."

Whether in peacetime or during times of conflict, these proud Americans, in all
branches of our Military, embolden the American spirit and personify our
highest ideals. In President Dwight D. Eisenhower's Veteran's Day Proclamation, it was declared, "In order to insure proper and widespread observance of this anniversary, all veterans, all veterans' organizations, and the entire citizenry will wish to join hands in the common purpose." On this day of reverence, let each of us, in common purpose, give thanks to and honor the service of our great American patriots."

Our Veterans remain in our hearts, and we are deeply grateful for their
sacrifice, valor, and dedication to the preservation of America's freedom.

We are forever in your debt!
