The arrival of the holiday season signals a time of celebration, reflection and preparation for the New Year.

As we begin to focus on 2011, let's take a quick look at 2010. What an incredible year for Team Edwards. You deployed men and women to the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility, delivered as promised on accelerated test programs to provide our war-fighting brethren with battle-ready game-changing capabilities, advanced the boundaries of aviation science, conducted developmental test on almost every aircraft in the Air Force inventory, all the while improving the quality of life for the men and women of Team Edwards.

You have much to be proud of. You are the strength of our Air Force and you are its greatest asset. It is our privilege to serve with you and we are grateful for the faithful support provided by your families.

During the holidays, we encourage you to take some time to relax, unwind, enjoy the season and recharge your batteries. The rest is well deserved.

But we also ask that you remain vigilant. Continue to be good wingmen. Look after and support each other. Pay attention to those with deployed family members and to those who otherwise may not be able to be with family this season.

Please be careful as you shop, decorate your homes, entertain, celebrate and travel. Put safety first when making and carrying out your plans. We need every member of this valuable team to return to work safely, well rested and ready to meet the historic challenges the New Year will bring.

We wish you and your families a very happy holiday season and a prosperous new year. We eagerly anticipate 2011 and look forward to continued service with each of you.

Happy Holidays,
Brig. Gen. Robert C. Nolan II, Commander, Air Force Flight Test Center
Col. Gregory "Greg" E. Schwab, Commander, 95th Air Base Wing
Col. Dawn M. Dunlop, Commander, 412th Test Wing
