The Edwards AFB Exchange was crowned among the best of the best at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s annual conference, receiving the organization’s highest honor, the Director/CEO Cup.

The Edwards AFB Exchange was selected from among nearly 100 eligible Exchange stores for its exceptional service to the military.

412th Mission Support Group Commander Col. Jarod Blecher wrote a letter in support of the Edwards Exchange’s nomination, detailing how the store has served the community.

“On behalf of all Edwards AFB families and the veteran community, I would like to express how profoundly grateful the community remains for the passion, commitment and meticulousness your team displays,” Blecher wrote. “The daily support, services, care and clear communications the EAFB Exchange team provides makes a difference to our community and the overall success of the test and development enterprise.”

Blecher also praised the Exchange for its efforts in increasing on-base dining options by 64 percentage points, launching The Home Depot showroom at the main store and partnering on 11 base-wide community events.

“The Edwards Exchange team shows up every day because they love serving the military community,” said Edwards BX Exchange General Manager Courtney Escobedo. “It’s a huge honor and also very humbling to receive this award. It’s a great reminder of why we do what we do.”

One winner and one runner-up were awarded the Director/CEO Cup in each of four size categories, based on sales volume: Mega, Large, Medium and Small. The Edwards AFB Exchange was the winner in the small category.

The winners were selected based on customer experience, leadership, business results, marketing efforts and community presence.
