Annie Banannie dazzles during summer reading program Published June 23, 2015 By 412th Test Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Balloon story teller Annie Banannie dropped by the library June 19 as part of this years summer reading program. This year's program officially started June 5 and is open to children of all ages. At sign up each child receives a bookmark, pencil, book bag and t-shirt with the theme, "Read to the Rhythm." For every 10 books read, the child will receive a prize. Each child is eligible to earn up to 10 prizes. Banannie and the children acted out a story that included a hero, aliens and sea creatures. The finale was Banannie getting into a "huge" balloon that exploded.
