Thinking globally and acting locally, members of the 95th Communications Group dedicated their Earth Day to cleaning their adopted lot and campus, while collecting and recycling used equipment and paper.

Members collected 250 obsolete IT components and 150 pounds of paper.  Nearly 30 large boxes of For Official Use Only material was taken to the Base Recycling Center for shredding.  Closets, cubicles, cabinets and cubby holes were emptied, cleared of cobwebs, windows wiped and weeds wacked.  The cyber team didn't stop there.  They also cleaned and painted a neglected training room turning it into a new place to learn.

At noon, everyone was treated to a barbeque, courtesy of 95th CG's senior leaders.  Matt Sanders, 95th CG, Unit Deployment and Training manager, was noted for heading up the cooking.  "I was blown away by the great attitudes and energy shown during our Spring Clean.  From the early, chilly 'stroll' through our desert to the back-breaking grounds clean up, you each made our environment a bit better for Earth Day," said Col. Paul Hardy, 95th Communications Group commander.

Additionally, Colonel Hardy expressed his thanks to Airman 1st. Class Lisa Cooper, 95th CG, knowledge operations manager, who took on the task of planning and leading the event. Stacy Menzer, 95th CG, telecommunications specialist,  was also thanked for her assistance in the coordination of the clean-up.  Colonel Hardy said all the hard work of  those who chipped in made 95th CG's Earth Day a success.
