In a traditional Air Force ceremony July 9, Col. Gregory E. Schwab assumed command as 95th Air Base Wing commander.

Colonel Schwab comes to Edwards from Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., where he served as Deputy Director of Cyber Operations, Directorate of Operations, Plans and Requirements.

As ABW commander, Colonel Schwab will be responsible for operating the base, including the infrastructure, communication systems, security, medical services, fire protection, transportation, supply, finance, contracting, legal services, personnel and manpower support, housing, education, chapel and quality-of-life programs on a 308,000-acre base in the middle of the Mojave Desert - the second largest base in the U.S. Air Force. His operations directly support the flight test and evaluation mission of the Air Force Flight Test Center.
