Second production model F-35A arrives at Edwards Published May 18, 2011 By 95th Air Base Wing Public Affairs EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The second production model F-35A Lightning II aircraft flies above the compass rose of Rogers Dry Lakebed at Edwards May 13. The aircraft, designated AF-6, ferried to Edwards from Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Texas, Joint Reserve Base following the Air Force formally accepting the fighter into its inventory the day before. The first production jet, AF-7, was delivered to Edwards May 6, making six total F-35 aircraft in the test program on base.
