The Civilian Personnel Section is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2012 Voluntary Early Retirement Authority and Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay. At this time, it is unknown if incentives will be offered. Employees should not take premature actions that are irrevocable or incur financial obligations prior to receiving a firm incentive offer from the CPS. However, you are encouraged to seriously consider this option.

Employees should contact the Headquarters Air Force Personnel Center's Civilian Benefits and Entitlements Services Team, known to most as BEST, at (800) 525-0102 for estimates and counseling. BEST counselors are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm, CDT.

You must be prepared to make a decision should an incentive be offered. The effective date to be off the employment roles will be Oct. 31, 2011, with no exceptions.

The timeframe to submit a response will be from Aug. 26 through Sep. 16, 2011. No applications will be received past the closing date. Interested employees need to submit their application to the following email address: afftc.vera.vsip@edwards.af.mil or drop off the application at CPS in Building 3000 at 5 N. Seller Ave. All questions should be addressed to Ruby Ervin at 277-5084.

If you submitted an e-mail response to the FY11 VERA/VSIP inquiry in the spring and are still interested, you must submit your application now to be considered for the FY12 VERA/VSIP as outlined above.

Your application will be considered automatically terminated if you do not receive an official offer for an incentive. The CPS will make every effort to promptly communicate the decision as to whether or not your request for separation will be granted. Employees who apply for the incentive and later wish to withdraw their application must sign and date a statement expressing this intent. Such statements will be available at CPS along with copies of the application if needed.

The application form can be picked-up at the Civilian Personnel Section and can also be found on the VERA/VSIP SharePoint site along with additional information at https://cs.eis.afmc.af.mil/sites/Edwards/veravsip/default.aspx.
