He is assigned to the 452nd Aerial Medical Evacuation Squadron, March Air Reserve Base, Calif. Duty Title: Paramedic Duty Section: Edwards Paramedic Ambulance Services Hometown: Irvine, Calif. Why did you become a paramedic? I became a paramedic to be the person that people turn to when they have a medical emergency; to help them get through that situation and make a difference in their lives. Why did you join the Air Force? I joined the Air Force to serve my country, gain knowledge and experience in the medical field that can't be found anywhere else, and to further myself as a leader. What do you like most about your job? For me the best part of being a paramedic is that no two days are the same, no two emergencies are alike and being able to help every patient in a different way. . What is your favorite thing to do around the area? Anything that involves my loving wife and our new daughter, Reagann. Warrior Highlights: "Mr. Rubio is instrumental team member within our Paramedic Ambulance Services element providing timely, emergent care to our beneficiaries and ensuring vital continuity of care within the local community. Yesterday (May 6), Mr. Rubio delivered a baby while in route to the Antelope Valley Hospital. Following the successful delivery and transport, he then rapidly returned to base to transport a child awaiting urgent care thus preventing an adverse event." Lt. Col.
