42nd MDG addresses patients about pharmacy changes Published April 4, 2020 Air University Public Affairs MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Valued Patients, We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we adjust our operations to protect you and our staff. We have implemented a few temporary process changes in our pharmacy and as a result are now able to receive electronic network/off base civilian provider prescriptions. To use this option please do the following: 1) Ask your off base provider send a new electronic prescription to the DoD Maxwell ePhcy. 2) Activate the prescription: call (334) 953-6868 and leave a message. Then allow 72-96 hours for processing. Services that are still temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 modified operations: - New civilian paper prescription service - Special Purchase medications (non-formulary). To see if your medication is on the TRICARE formulary, search it at https://www.express-scripts.com/static/formularySearch/2.9.5/#/formularySearch/drugSearch - Delivery to Gunter Annex Refills: Existing refills can be ordered by calling the automated system at (334) 953-7971 or (800) 732-6117; please allow 72 – 96 hours for processing. Additional Options: If you would like your prescription to be transferred to an off-base pharmacy, please have that pharmacy fax the requests to (334) 953-5272 and the base pharmacy will contact them with your prescription.
