  • Edwards AFB road rededicated honor of late test engineer

    A road on Edwards Air Force Base, California, was renamed to Zang Drive in honor of Patrick Zang, Oct. 9. Zang, an Edwards test engineer who passed away last year, worked for more than 30 years and is the first Air Force civilian to have a road dedicated in his memory on the base.

  • Drivers keep on lookout for tortoises

    The desert tortoise is one of the many animals found on Edwards Air Force Base, California. Listed as threatened under the federal Endangered Species Act of 1973, desert tortoises are protected from unwarranted harassment or injury. The 412th Civil Engineer Group’s Environmental Management Division wants to remind base residents to be on the lookout for desert tortoises, especially near or crossing roadways.
  • AFMC hosts command chief orientation

    Air Force Materiel Command held its first AFMC Command Chief Orientation, Sep. 30-Oct. 1 to familiarize new wing and center command chiefs with the overall organizational mission and how their units fit into the bigger picture. The event provided the new enlisted leaders a greater understanding of the wide range of AFMC missions and offered a broader perspective on the issues that impact Airmen, setting them up for success as they lead the next-generation of Airmen in the organization.
