Air Force Sustainment Center launches Career Compass to boost civilian career growth

The Air Force Sustainment Center Directorate of Manpower and Personnel recently unveiled Career Compass, a professional development initiative for civilian employees. The program aims to empower AFSC personnel with tools to enhance their expertise and leadership skills.

Career Compass, a Total Force program, provides resources tailored to all roles within AFSC. It includes webinars, panel discussions, and resource guides designed to accommodate employees’ schedules and career goals. “The goal is to help our civilian workforce unlock their full potential,” said Katherine Nolan, AFSC Force Development Division program manager.

The program’s second-quarter learning series, titled “Own Your Future! – The Power of Networking and Embrace AI, Unlock New Potential,” runs from June to August 2025. The series focuses on skill development, professional networking, and the role of artificial intelligence in transforming workplace practices. “These sessions are a game-changer for positioning our team as leaders in innovation,” said Maggie Cresswell, AFSC Force Development Division program manager.

The upcoming webinars include:

  • The Power of Networking, presented by Stephanie Sexton from the Department of Personnel, Air Force Research Laboratory, on June 25 at 11:30 a.m. CDT. Join via Microsoft Teams.
  • Embrace AI, Unlock New Potential, led by Chris McCorkle, chief of the 418th Data Science and Analysis Flight, on Aug. 6 at 11:30 a.m. CDT. Join via Microsoft Teams.
