DAYTON, Ohio (AFLCMC) - Life Cycle Industry Days, or LCID, kicked off Monday, July 29th with record-setting attendance, a full slate of speakers, expert panels, vendor booths and an overview video of what reoptimization for Great Power Competition (GPC) means for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center.

LCID brings together Air Force leaders, uniformed and civilian airmen and industry partners. This is the ninth year for the event. It is happening this week at the Dayton, Ohio Convention Center. During the event, AFLCMC PEOs and other leaders will engage in 32 strategic small business meetings. "PEO Alley" displays allow AFLCMC and AFRL directorates the chance to advertise their latest technologies and successes.

During the opening ceremonies attendees watched a video featuring AFLCMC Commander Lt. Gen. Donna Shipton. In the video, Shipton discusses changes ahead for AFLCMC - and how every uniformed, civilian and contractor Airman may contribute to the reoptimization mission. The video also features previous remarks from Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David W. Allvin. Graphics help explain upcoming changes and new focuses for some teams. As previously reported, AFLCMC will become Air Force Air Dominance Systems Center (AFADSC) and AFMC will stand up the Integrated Development Office (IDO) and Air Force Dominance Systems Center (AFIDSC) as part of the reoptimization plan. At the conclusion of the video, Shipton welcomed everyone in attendance and officially opened the event.

On Tuesday, July 30, Kendall will deliver a keynote address to the LCID audience.
