HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- A Command, Control, Communications, Intelligence and Networks Directorate cost analyst here was honored during an AFCEA International Conference in San Diego, Feb. 14.
Alexandria Swope, Aerial Networks Division, received AFCEA’s Distinguished Young Professional Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to AFCEA’s Lexington-Concord Chapter.
Swope was recognized for contributing to numerous chapter events during her first year as a Young AFCEAN, including an AFCEA MathCounts Competition, where she reviewed submissions from more than 40 schools to help select individual and team winners.
According to officials, she also played an “absolutely integral” role in a “Run for STEM 5K” event that raised more than $10,000 for local schools.
Additionally, Swope also spent personal time serving the local community in an organization called “Coast Sweep,” where her volunteer efforts included collecting trash at local beaches and parks to keep a clean environment for residents and wildlife to enjoy.
Swope began her Air Force career in 2019 when she became a member of Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Financial Management Trainee Program. She quickly transitioned from mentee to mentor, helping new recruits acclimate to their own training experiences.
“Alexandria Swope’s contributions to our chapter have been no less than extraordinary,” said Patrick Hamilton, Lexington-Concord Chapter president.
